Most Valuable Championship Team Bournemouth rise to Premier League

Thanks to a late Moore hit

AFC Bournemouth, the most valuable team in the English Championship with a squad value of €169.60m, are returning to the Premier League after two years. On the penultimate day of the second-rate championship, coach Scott Parker’s team made the promotion perfect with a 1-0 (0-0) win against third-placed Nottingham Forest. Championship winners FC Fulham had already been confirmed as the first promoted team.

Kieffer Moore (photo) scored the winning goal on Tuesday evening in the 83rd minute. Nottingham could have overtaken Bournemouth with a win. With a six-point lead before the last matchday, Bournemouth can no longer be ousted from the direct promotion place. Nottingham can secure the last promotion place in the play-offs, in which four teams take part. Next to Forest, Huddersfield Town has secured its place. The other two contestants face off against Sheffield United, Luton Town, Middlesbrough and Millwall on the final day of the regular season.
