Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed Irish international Nathan Collins from Burnley FC, which have been relegated to the Premier League. The central defender signed a long-term contract with the “Wolves” until 2027. The transfer fee is reportedly 24.3 million euros – which also makes the second newcomer the most expensive transfer in the club’s history.

Just last summer, Collins switched from Stoke City to the Clarets for €14m, for whom he scored two goals in 19 games last season. “We’ve been watching and admiring Nathan for a while, so we’re delighted with the successful signing. He’s a very talented young man – he’s only 21, had a good season internationally and last year with Burnley. We think we’ve brought in a player with a lot of potential, (…), someone who is physically very good, very tall, very athletic and feels very comfortable with the ball,” said Wolverhampton’s technical director Scott Sellars on the transfer.
