The Italian fashion group Aeffe SpA slipped back into the red in the 2022 financial year. On Wednesday, the parent company of brands including Alberta Ferretti, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, Moschino and Pollini said it had posted a net loss attributable to shareholders of 9.0 million euros. In 2021, the group of companies had reported a corresponding surplus of 12.1 million euros. The reasons for the negative development were increased costs and higher tax burdens.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA), at EUR 35.6 million, were slightly above the previous year’s level (+0.6 percent). This was mainly due to a solid increase in sales, which the group had already announced in January. Accordingly, Aeffe’s revenues last year amounted to EUR 352.0 million, exceeding the level of 2021 by 8.4 percent (currency-adjusted +7.7 percent).
