Mortality risk in the first corona year higher among Dutch people with a migration background

During the first year of the corona pandemic, Dutch people with a Moroccan, Turkish and Surinamese migration background had a higher risk of dying from COVID-19 than people with a Dutch background. The risk for people from those groups was 1.6 to 1.8 times higher than for people with a Dutch background, according to research by Statistics Netherlands (CBS) on Tuesday.
