9. Alone, in Segovia

At 4.05 in the morning, Macarena appears alone in the town of Riaza (Segovia).The cameras of the Plaza Hotel in that town record her going up the entrance stairs. The woman is already alone, she is wearing the mask against covid and carrying a suitcase. There is no trace of his son. There are no free rooms that night and Macarena goes downstairs. A neighbor of the town sees her ten minutes later throwing some objects into a garbage container on the street, in front of the hotel.

10. The gas station

At 7:05 the same morning, Macarena enters a service station of a gas station in Carabias (Segovia). It has taken almost three hours on a journey of just over 40 kilometers. She has changed her clothes and has her hair tied up. She goes alone and tells the employee that they have “killed her son”. The woman notifies the emergency services, who arrive shortly after and attend to her mother. She is then admitted to the psychiatric unitfirst in the Segovia Hospital and later in Valme (Seville).
