Moroccan fans took over the streets of Europe after the semi-final spot

Dutch police have asked Moroccan supporters to be considerate of other residents.

Morocco’s sensational victory over Portugal has raised the festive mood in Europe as well. Morocco fans have taken to the streets to celebrate the team’s 1–0 win and a place in the semi-finals over Portugal.

For example, in Germany and the Netherlands, fans have been seen shooting rockets and honking car horns in the streets. In some places, the atmosphere has unfortunately become restless. Fans have clashed with riot police. Several people have been arrested.

Dutch NOS reports that hundreds of people have gathered in downtown Rotterdam. Some of the streets have had to be closed because of the large crowd. The police have asked supporters to go home.

Amsterdam was even announced emergency, and areas had to be cleared. The police asked supporters on Twitter to consider other townspeople. At the same time, it warned that crime will be dealt with.

According to information from Iltalehti, supporters of Morocco have also been spotted in Helsinki. Daily Mail reported that fans even took over New York.

Already knocking off Spain in the quarter-finals sparked Morocco fans into celebration earlier this week. Then there were riots in some European cities.
