More war refugees arrived in Berlin

New war refugees from the Ukraine are constantly arriving in Berlin, although not quite as many as a week or two ago. On Tuesday, the authorities alone counted around 3,800 people who got off trains and buses.

This emerges from the situation report published by the social administration on Wednesday. That number was similar on Monday. About 300 had to be accommodated by the Senate Refugees, less than last. Others were taken to other federal states in an organized manner, traveled on privately or found individual quarters in Berlin.

As it was further said, Berlin social welfare offices granted since Beginning of the Russian attack on Ukraine from February 24th to March 21st financial support for 11,658 refugees. This involved emergency aid, but also applications for regular benefits under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act.

Many war refugees are dependent on money. Although they have cash from home with them, they have nowhere to exchange their currency, which is practically worthless because of the war.

You can apply for emergency aid at any time, regular social benefits only after registration. You will then after that Asylum Seekers Benefits Act cared for, although they are not asylum seekers.
