More than three thousand peacekeepers from the CSTO countries arrived in Kazakhstan

The presence of peacekeeping forces contributes to the stabilization of the situation in Kazakhstan. There are servicemen from all CSTO member countries in the country. The first brigades from Armenia, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan arrived the night before. The Russian and Belarusian military arrived even earlier.

Five hours of flight and another board with Russian peacekeepers arrives in Kazakhstan. And it arrives, interestingly, at the international airport of Almaty. The best of the best are on board. Paratroopers from Ulyanovsk and Ivanov, who in the near future will be responsible for security in the republic.

“All servicemen of the Russian contingent have undergone special training and have real combat experience. The Russian servicemen who arrived in the Republic of Kazakhstan immediately began to carry out their tasks. To date, together with the law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan, they took control of the Alma-Ata airport. The security of the general consulate located in the city is ensured. Russian Federation and other important facilities, “said Igor Konashenkov, Head of the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Russian Defense Ministry.

The air group of the Russian Ministry of Defense – more than 70 Il-76 aircraft and five An-124. In addition to the units of the Russian contingent, peacekeepers are also being transferred from Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Armenia. And all this – around the clock. Il-76 planes delivered Belarusian paratroopers from the 103 airborne brigade to the Zhetygen airfield.

This is how the runway of the Almaty International Airport looks now. According to the Kazakh security forces, the territory is completely under their control. But the airport does not accept civil flights yet.

And this is footage from the Armenian airport of Zvartnots, where a hundred peacekeepers went to the riot-ridden republic in three Russian transports. During the mission, they will also ensure the protection of infrastructural facilities of strategic importance.

Another two hundred servicemen flew out of Tajikistan. Previously, they repeatedly participated in the CSTO anti-terrorist exercises both at their own training grounds and on the territory of other member states of the organization.

The decision to assist the ally was made by the Kyrgyz parliament. The group, which has already left for Kazakhstan from the Kant airbase with two aircraft, included 150 Scorpion special forces soldiers and almost 20 pieces of equipment.

The process of transfer and combat deployment has been worked out to automatism in repeated exercises, including those joint with Kazakhstan. All their peacekeepers from Russia brought with them. Unloading takes a few minutes.

On the runway there are BMD-4 airborne combat vehicles, Tiger armored vehicles, BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, satellite communication stations and electronic warfare systems. The contingent is more than three thousand servicemen. Most of them are from Russia.

Russian peacekeepers are moving out of the Almaty airport to the place of deployment. There is a curfew in the city. There is practically no one on the streets. Mobile communications and internet are still blocked.
