More than 50 extra Shop&Go places in Torhout

A sensor registers whether you do not stay longer than 30 minutes in the special parking lot to do some shopping quickly.

“That fits in with the renewal of the city center,” says mayor Kristof Audenaert. “We are renovating the Market. We want a new, modern parking policy. Shop&go offers free parking for 30 minutes and next year we will also abolish paid parking.” A large part of it then becomes a blue zone.

The first five shop&go sensors have been installed on the bridge in Torhout. Dozens more will be added to the Market, which is still undergoing full reconstruction. The project should offer some shopping comfort, both for customers and traders in Torhout.
