As nearly all patients (96 percent) had skin lesions, 72 percent also had general symptoms such as fever, general unwellness or swollen lymph nodes. Twenty-eight people have already been hospitalized. There are no deaths in our country yet.
Worldwide, five deaths were linked to the disease outside of Africa, namely in Spain (two), Brazil, India and Peru.
