The Italian fashion group Prada SpA wants to strengthen its production capacities in its home country with additional staff. The company announced on Friday that more than 400 new hires are planned at various production sites in Italy by the end of the year.
The aim of the investments is, as part of the long-term strategy, to strengthen the group’s own supply chains and to enable more flexible and faster production processes, according to a press release. The personnel measures are intended to help support the company’s growth course.
At the same time, according to the fashion house, it is also about “promoting manual skills in Italy”. More than 200 of the future employees will therefore be specifically trained for their upcoming tasks in the production of leather and knitwear as well as the prêt-à-porter collections in the group’s own training facilities of the “Prada Group Academy”.
