More than 40 American clinics have already had to stop abortion | Abroad

The figures come from the Guttmacher Institute, which campaigns for access to contraception and abortion. Most clinics had to close in Texas (23), in Oklahoma and Alabama there were five. The only clinic in Mississippi was also forced to close.

Access to termination of pregnancy, already very poor in much of the country, is expected to continue to deteriorate as more states enact abortion bans in the coming weeks and months.

It seems that eventually half of the 50 states, especially in the conservative south and center of the country, will ban abortions.
