More than 350,000 viewers on Open Company Day | Inland

The 32nd Open Company Day has tempted more than 350,000 people to take a look behind the scenes at one of the more than 200 participating companies in Flanders and Brussels. Organizer Voka announced this on Sunday evening.

“Voka Open Company Day is and remains a unique opportunity to see how things are going at the many flourishing companies we have in abundance,” said Voka Open Company Day director Inge Claerhout. “For many this has become a regular appointment, for others the first time, but together more than 350,000 visitors showed up at more than 200 companies”.

The Open Company Day, this year under the slogan “Entrepreneurship Together, Grow Together, Open Doors Together”, kicked off on Sunday morning at the Samsonite luggage company in Oudenaarde, where Minister of Work and Economy Jo Brouns was given a tour and allowed to put together a personalized suitcase.

Other attractions included the new Delhaize wine bottling plant in Asse, Schobbejaks Ostrich Farm in Tielt, the Belgian Navy in Zeebrugge and La Confiance biscuit factory in Baasrode.

Hybrid

After a digital edition in corona year 2020, the 32nd edition of the Open Companies Day was a hybrid, just like that of 2021. Spectators could once again admire production processes and technical gadgets on site, hear entrepreneurial stories or taste snacks, but interested parties could also visit behind the scenes online.

Companies in Wallonia also opened their doors to the general public on Sunday. According to organizer Sudmedia, about 100,000 people visited one of the 110 participating companies in the south of the country. In Wallonia it was also a hybrid version.
