More than 30 degrees and thunderstorms – hot week for Berlin!

Summer is finally turning! The sun is shining over Berlin and Brandenburg this week, the temperatures crack the 30-degree mark – but the risk of storms is also increasing.

At around 30 degrees, thunderstorms and sometimes storms with heavy rain are to be expected, as reported by the German Weather Service (DWD).

The week starts with up to 31 degrees and lots of clouds. Scattered showers are possible during the day, and thunderstorms are also on the way Monday possible. During the night of Tuesday, temperatures drop to 14 degrees and the showers subside.

It starts out clear to cloudy Tuesday. At up to 32 degrees there will be thunderstorms during the day. According to DWD information, heavy rain, hail and gusts of wind are to be expected. During the night at around 19 degrees regional showers, locally strong thunderstorms are to be expected.

Showers and thunderstorms and up to 32 degrees are also on Wednesday further possible. There is regional potential for severe weather. It will cool down to 16 degrees by Thursday. There is still a risk of severe weather locally.

At the Thursday people in Berlin and Brandenburg can expect a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures of up to 30 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain are still possible in some areas. There can also be thunderstorms on Friday, with temperatures dropping to 16 degrees.
