Earlier, the South Korean Ministry of Interior and Security had said that 26 other people had also died as a result of the many problems caused by four days of heavy rainfall. Ten people are still missing. The victims of the flooded tunnel were not counted among those missing, because it was initially unclear how many people had become trapped in it.
In total, more than 7,500 people have been evacuated due to the flooding and landslides. More heavy rain is forecast for Sunday on the Korean peninsula.
