More than 30 civilians killed in Congo militia clashes | Abroad

It concerned fighting between members of the armed militia Codeco and the Force patriotique et intégrationniste du Congo (FPIC), which took place between Sunday and Tuesday in the Irumu area.

The riots broke out after an altercation between some fighters from these two armed groups, the president of a civilian organization, Gili Gotabo, told Radio Okapi.

More than 30 civilians were killed in the fighting. Some 500 houses were set on fire and two health facilities were looted in different entities of Baboa-Bokoe and Babelebe districts.
