More than 28,000 refugees arrived in Armenia, Azerbaijan optimistic after ‘constructive’ consultations with Armenia

To date, just over 28,100 refugees from the Nagorno-Karabakh region have arrived in Armenia, Armenian authorities have announced. The exodus from the Armenian exclave is in full swing – more than 120,000 people live in the area conquered by Azerbaijan last week, most of them Armenians. According to Azerbaijan, high-level consultations between Azerbaijan and Armenia today went “quite constructively”. The foreign adviser to the Azerbaijani president sees opportunities for a way out of the conflict over the ethnic Armenian enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh, he said after a conversation with his Armenian colleague in Brussels.
