More than 10,000 voted: This is the best cheese

Pippuri.fi decided to find out which cheese the readers think is the best. Traditional cream cheese got the most votes.

Valion Oltermanni is the number one cheese, reveals Pippuri.fi’s big cheese vote. We asked our readers to vote for the best cheese that should always be found in the fridge. More than 10,000 votes were cast.

Oltermanni got 16 percent of the votes. Oltermanni is a mild-tasting cream cheese that is made in the Haapavesi cheese factory. Oltermann has been sold in stores since 1981.

Readers voted Valio’s Mustaleima, which has a very strong taste, as the second best cheese. Mustaleima is an Emmental cheese that has been aged for at least nine months. It has a hard structure with large holes. Mustaleima got 13 percent of the votes.

Valion’s Polar Original 15% cheese took third place in the voting. The manufacturer says that Polar combines the characteristics of Emmental and Gouda cheeses.

In the voting, Valion’s Salaneuvos took fourth place and Kuusamo’s smoked cheese took fifth place.

There were 30 ready-made answer options in the vote. If you couldn’t find your favorite on the list, you could also name it in the comment section. In the open answers, Herkkujuustola’s Vilho, Jukola’s cheddar and Aura-juusto received individual mentions.
