There were casualties in both provinces: at least 105 people were killed and 397 injured in villages in Gansu. In Qinhai, at least 11 people were killed and 140 injured in the city of Haidong. More than 4,700 houses were damaged in Gansu, provincial authorities said. Houses have also collapsed and roads have been blocked in both provinces. Some places are without electricity and water. Rescue efforts are in full swing.
