Currently, more than 1 in 10 train conductors at NMBS are home sick. Absenteeism due to illness is 8 percent across the entire workforce. An ultimate reconciliation attempt is planned today between the common trade union front and management. If this fails, there will be not one, but two exceptional 48-hour strikes.
