More than 1 billion euros of Flemish money for renovations | Money

The government wants to increase the pace of renovations in order to temper high energy bills and reduce CO2 emissions. Currently, only 5 percent of homes in Flanders have an energy performance certificate (EPC) A, by 2050 all homes must have it. Each year, 2.5 percent of houses have to be renovated, more than double the current number.

The new MijnVerbouwPremie application desk will open on 1 October, on which all renovation premiums have been combined. This should greatly simplify the applications. Almost two-thirds of Flemish people would be eligible for a premium: up to 40 percent of the invoice amount, excluding VAT. If a premium is not sufficient, you can also opt for an interest-free loan.

From next year, the renovation obligation will also apply to EPC D. Demir points out that there are premiums for people who want to make their home even more energy-efficient.
