Many have worked all their lives and still struggle with poverty in old age. Living in state-owned facilities with on-site care from clubs is the only affordable solution for many.
Understandable when you consider that a place in a care facility now costs 3,000 euros.
But there is not enough financial support for clubs with this important function. With the MoRo senior living complexes, an important organization now has to give up its work. Many of the 1,000 pensioners affected are now worried about their future.
More support for seniors and a separate budget in the state budget are the only salvation for these people who want to participate in life and not be pushed to the margins of society.
