PVV leader Geert Wilders has received mail containing a note from PostNL with the handwritten text “More Moroccans! More Muslims!”. The text on the note was from De Träöt, a magazine of carnival association Jocus from Venlo.
The sheet was wrapped in plastic film, inside was the note.
‘Bad case’
A spokesperson for Jocus calls it a “bad thing” that someone writes on it, but says it is difficult to find out where that happened and who did it. “At least not with us.”
According to the spokesperson, Wilders is a donor of the association and is therefore sent the magazine. Jocus has about four hundred donors and does not manually send the magazine. The magazine is printed at Drukkerij Knoops and then it goes to Business Post, an organization of collaborating postal companies.
Automatically
Drukkerij Knoops therefore prints and seals the sheet. The director says he does not think that one of his employees wrote on the note. “Everything is automatic.” He does say he is “disappointed” that it happened. “I fell off my chair when I heard it.”
Research
PostNL calls it “not okay” on Twitter and says it will “immediately forward to the responsible delivery person and manager”. A spokesperson said that PostNL is starting an investigation. PostNL does not know how the text ended up on the post. With the research, the postal company hopes to gain more insight into this.
