Even after the end of the Olympic disciplines, German marksmen continue to collect medals at the World Championships in Baku.
Former Junior World Champion Kris Großheim (Frankfurt/Main) gave the German Shooting Federation (DSB) the next bronze medal in the mixed running target on Monday. And Lisa Müller (Weingarten), Anna-Lena Geuther (Unterschleißheim) and Veronique Münster (Kalletal) also won bronze as a team in the three-position fight.
Both the women’s trio and Großheim had already taken a medal with them the day before. Müller, Geuther and Münster shot to third place in the 300m prone competition. Großheim even finished second in the running target over 10 m.
“In the slow run I created a very good starting position for the fast run,” said the 24-year-old Großheim, describing his way to silver at the World Championships: “I started very well there and then lost my nerve a little, which got better again at the end. ” In the end it wasn’t quite enough to win the final, but he was “extremely happy” with silver, as Großheim emphasized.
After the other podium finishes, the German sport shooters now have three gold, five silver and eight bronze medals at the World Championships.
