Promising teen star Tyler Sanders, 18, passed away in June at her home in Los Angeles. Three weeks later, investigators confirmed the teenager’s probable cause of death to TMZ magazine.
Tyler’s cause of death is suspected to be a drug overdose. According to the magazine, the young actor already had a history with drug use. Police found a plastic straw and white powder in Tyler’s room where he died.
The youth’s death came to light when his friends called the police. Tyler’s friends were worried because they hadn’t heard from their friend since the night out. With the 911 call, the police found Tyler’s body in his home.
According to TMZ, Tyler was buried in Houston. According to a source who was at the funeral, the actor’s father David Sanders gave a eulogy for his child and told those at the funeral that Tyler had died of an overdose.
According to the magazine, Tyler suffered from depression already when he started filming the 9-1-1 series. In his eulogy, Tyler’s father spoke of his son’s experiences of not being able to find happiness in anything.
The young actor struggled with depression and a drug problem while pushing his acting career forward. The official cause of death will not be known until 4-6 months later, when the toxicology reports come back from the coroners.
During his short career, the young man had time to act in the youth series Just Add Magic: Mystery City, for which he received an Emmy nomination in the category of young actors. He also starred in Fear the Walking Dead and 9-1-1: Lone Star – series.
