The Netherlands is sending more parts and materials to Ukraine this winter to help restore important energy infrastructure. Russian bombing has damaged the power grid and other infrastructure. As a result, part of the Ukrainian population regularly no longer has access to electricity, heat and/or water. The first shipment of some 22 trucks arrived earlier this month. A second delivery of 19 trucks also recently left. This includes transformers, switching components and cables that are needed to restore the electricity grid.

This winter, the Netherlands will remain in contact with the Ukrainian authorities and the European Commission, which coordinates international aid, about the necessary parts and materials. The Dutch government works together with the European Commission for the logistics organization. The transport to Ukraine is reimbursed by the EU humanitarian aid organisation. The details of this shipment, such as the final destination, are not public for security reasons.
