Health department orders quarantine
Viktoria Berlin’s game at Halleschen FC in the 3rd division was canceled a few hours before the scheduled kick-off on Tuesday. As the capital city club announced, the responsible Berlin health department ordered quarantine for the sky blue contact persons after three further corona cases. As a result, Viktoria had fewer than 16 eligible players. It was not yet known when the game should be rescheduled.
For Viktoria it is already the second game failure this year. The game against Eintracht Braunschweig could not take place either. “It’s brutal. For the second time in ten days, we are robbed of the opportunity to finally have the longed-for sense of achievement with the home advantage behind us. The boys were extremely hot and focused, so the disappointment is correspondingly great,” explained HFC trainer André Meyer to the “image“: “If things continue like this, the number of appointments, the risk of injury and mental stress will play an immense role in the outcome of the season.” Halle is 15th in the table after the 22nd matchday.
