More companies cut ties with Ye West after anti-Semitic statements | show

The American Creative Artists Agency (CAA) has ended its collaboration with Kanye ‘Ye’ West. The rapper’s anti-Semitic statements are the reason for this, reports the American website Deadline. Earlier this week, fashion house Balenciaga also broke ties with West.

West has made several anti-Semitic statements in interviews and in tweets in recent weeks. For example, he claimed that George Floyd, who died last year, did not die from suffocation during a police action, but from the drug fentanyl. In addition, in several interviews, he proclaimed anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. That caused a group of protesters in Los Angeles to pay the Nazi salute last weekend and put up a banner that read “Kanye is right about the Jews.”

The musician was also a guest on the podcast Drink Champs, in which the rapper made numerous anti-Semitic statements. He would also talk in the American TV program The Shop about the fuss that arose after his statements. This was not broadcast, because according to CEO Maverick Carter Ye used The Shop “to repeat more hate texts and extremely dangerous stereotypes”.

His ex-wife Kim Kardashian and several other stars, including actress Jamie Lee Curtis, actress Reese Witherspoon and comedian Sarah Silverman, have already spoken out online against the rapper’s anti-Semitic statements. West would temporarily be unable to access his social media accounts due to his statements. The rapper suffers from bipolar disorder. He was admitted to a psychiatric clinic several years ago.

Adidas is also investigating whether it wants to continue with the collaboration with Ye. The German sportswear brand and the rapper have been working together since 2015.
