Dozens of local politicians from Moscow and St. Petersburg have signed an open letter asking for the resignation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The letter has been circulating online since yesterday and the signatures continue to come in. Representatives from the Smolninskoye district of St. Petersburg – where Putin grew up – want to go even further and charge the president with high treason for starting the war in Ukraine.
