Morata extends with Atletico (to return to Juve …)

He signed up to 2024: but in this way he can really begin negotiations between the two clubs to bring him back to Turin

It’s over? No, it’s not over. Alvaro Morata greets Juventus and extends with Atletico Madrid until 2024: in the space of 24 hours the Spanish striker, apparently, took two steps that distance him from the bianconeri. The first is linked to the end of his loan with the Juventus club, the second to the choice to join the colchoneros for an extra year. In reality, above all this second move is an implicit aid to the strategy of the sports director Federico Cherubini to bring him back home in a definitive way. If Alvaro had not renewed with the Madrid club, the operation of a new loan would have been impossible, given that the Gil family club would never have agreed to sell it on maturity, without any guarantee.

NEGOTIATION

Now, on the other hand, a new phase is opening, that of authentic negotiations between the two clubs. In this regard, it should be remembered that the original contract provided for the redemption of Morata for 35 million euros, a figure that in Turin they had immediately declared themselves unwilling to spend. In the Continassa budget there are at most twenty million to complete an operation that has already cost another 20 (10 million loan per year). And in any case, the extra year of Morata with Atletico allows to lower the price of his redemption, given that this dilutes the amortization of the investment made in 2020 with the purchase from Chelsea for 53 million euros. With this nuance, in fact, Alvaro’s cost can even drop to 25 million. It will be up to the managers of the two companies to find the right formula to meet each other. It can be a loan with a redemption obligation or a definitive sale with multi-year payment.

MAN OF MAX

One fact is certain: in Max Allegri’s agenda, Morata is always in the very first places. Especially if Moise Kean were to leave, the Spaniard would be the ideal interpreter to be included in the new Juventus attack. After all, we have already seen how the Juventus coach willingly uses him on the left wing, but he sees him equally well in the center: possibly as a sort of deputy Vlahovic. In this overview, the bad relationship between Alvaro and Cholo Simeone should never be overlooked: so much so that the possibility of his confirmation in Madrid is not quoted. In the meantime, Barcelona’s interest has also evaporated after their descent on the pitch in January. If anything, Morata could find space in the Premier League (Arsenal), but his preference for Turin is evident. And in this regard, the fiscal aspect must never be forgotten. Since his arrival at Juve two summers ago, the Spanish international has enjoyed the benefits of the Growth Decree and obviously has the right to retain this privileged status. In short, if you do a little bit of math, it is easy to understand why this solution enjoys so many favors among the Juventus leaders. Morata is well regarded by the environment, as well as by the group-team. Thus, this strategy of attention towards him is explained. With patience, knowing full well that the green light could go off later.
