A 30-year-old man from Best pushed a woman out of his car on Saturday evening. Then he fled. He has since been arrested and charged with assault and attempted murder.
Surveillance officers were approached on Saturday evening around eleven o’clock by visitors to the Market in Sint-Oedenrode. A man allegedly assaulted a woman and threw it out of his car. The driver then drove off in his van and rammed into a parked car.
Officers decided to take a look. There they found a startled woman who told her version of the story to the police.
On the run
The man’s van soon came into the sights of the police on Ollandseweg. He got a stop sign, but ignored it. The man drove fast and very dangerously, including against traffic. Officers managed to avoid being hit by the man. He also tried to push the police car off the road.
Under the influence
The suspect eventually got stuck. So he could be arrested. He resisted a lot. The man was found to be under the influence of drugs. He had that in his pocket too.
