A monument commemorating the Nazi resistance group “Red Chapel” in Berlin-Lichtenberg has been daubed with a swastika.

The swastika was approximately 70 centimeters by 1.70 meters, a police spokeswoman said on Tuesday. The monument is located in a green area on Schulze-Boysen-Straße. A resident reported the damage to property on Monday – as well as another swastika that the woman discovered on a nearby garbage shack.

The State Police of the State Criminal Police Office is investigating damage to property that is harmful to the community and the use of license plates of unconstitutional and terrorist organizations.
