Just like her sister Maxime, Montana Meiland is very disappointed with the attention that the Dutch celebrity entails. She is considering filming her marriage for television.
It is the least known member of the much-discussed Meiland family: the somewhat more modest-looking Montana Meiland. However, it seems that that is about to change, as Montana has a more prominent role in the TV hit Chateau Meiland this season. “Last time she wasn’t in the leader, now she is,” Martien said recently in Veronica Superguide.
Montana sucks
Montana is very much into that, Erica added to the magazine. “Montana likes that she’s in it a bit more now.
Even if there are no cameras, the children are here almost every day. They really enjoy our new home.”
But what does that same Montana suddenly say in the Weekend? That she, like her sister Maxime, is so fed up with the media attention! “Sometimes it is a lot and then I think: if only I hadn’t been known, but just nice and anonymous”, she sighs in the magazine.
‘Breathe and carry on’
It’s all very hard for Montana, that fame. “I have my store Montana’s gifts & interior in Noordwijk, where I work every day. People always ask me if they can take a picture with me. It is of course nice that they all enjoy it so much, but during the holidays it is very intense.”
Then all those SBS viewers come to her store. “When I spend an hour taking a picture, I sometimes think: I want to get out of here. It’s too much for me, just in the picture when I just want to do my job and run the store. When the holiday is over (…) then it is quiet for a while, I can breathe again and then I can continue.”
TV wedding
Wow, that’s actually quite difficult. Will we see Montana less in Chateau Meiland then? Or will she stop altogether?
No, Montana is considering a TV wedding. Just like Maxim. “Would I also have my wedding day filmed? I think that’s a good question. I don’t actually know. I should think about that, because if you do it, you have to show it all. First the proposal, because otherwise there is nothing to film”, she laughs.
Income
Montana can certainly use the TV revenues. She can’t find an affordable home, while her sister Maxime moves to a different million-dollar building every year. “Now I heard that house prices do go down, but then the interest rate is very high again,” she says.
Montana makes ends meet. “Yes, I’m very careful. I love those energy prices! It’s already cold in my house, but I’m not turning on that stove yet.”
Her rich daddy does. “I was there recently and it was just warm.”
