It is noisy in the classrooms of the Esdal college on the Oosterstraat in Emmen, but most students are very concentrated on painting their own sign. “It’s quite difficult,” says Djurdjina. She is standing at a table with Esmee and Sharon, where all three of them are working on their own ‘piece’ of Van Gogh. “We have all been given a square, where a small part of the portrait has to come,” she explains in conversation with SO!34† All these pieces together should soon become a whole.
