Less emo and more electro: listen to the new version of the Tokio Hotel classic here.
In 2005, Tokio Hotel released their single “Through the Monsoon”. It was the band’s debut single by Bill and Tom Kaulitz, Georg Listing and Gustav Schäfer. Back then, the track shot to number one in the German and Austrian charts, where it stayed for a few weeks. Now, almost 20 years later after the release of the hit song penned by singer Bill Kaulitz, “Durch den Monsun” has been reissued. “Monsoon” is the name of the refreshed version of the song and was created in collaboration with VIZE, Leony, Niklas Dee and, of course, Tokio Hotel.
VIZE is a German music project founded in Berlin by DJ Johannes Vimalavong and producer Vitali Zestovskih. In 2021, they released the single “White Lies” together with Tokio Hotel.
Together with the German pop singer and songwriter Leony and the musician Niklas Dee, they interpret Tokio Hotel’s former number one single in a completely new way: as a danceable electro version. Instead of in German (as in the original), the lyrics of the new interpretation are in English.
