Monique Westenberg is once again under fire for her opinion on the Gaza war and now she is completely out of her influencer skin. “I fucking feel with my heart!”
If you ask Monique Westenberg to point out Israel and the Gaza Strip on the map, she will probably end up near Curaçao. Or near the coast of Spain. At least she knows that. Yet she now expresses her opinion day in and day out about what is happening in the war between Israel and Hamas, something she knew nothing about until recently.
Donuts and war
It started three weeks ago, when Monique posted a broken heart for the victims in Israel, along with the country’s flag. She said she was then called a **** by Palestinian people. “I am not aware that this has also been happening in Palestine (for years). We hardly get to see this,” she then said.
Now Monique mainly posts Instagramstories that highlight the Palestinian side. Between all kinds of photos of her son’s cheerful donuts, we also see statements in which she speaks out against violence. “I THINK IT’S INSANE,” reads above one of the messages.
Strong criticism
Monique has also come under fierce criticism for this. “Will you share this too? Or less bad?”, says one of her followers with a headline about 32 innocent Israeli children taken by Hamas terrorists.
Monique finds it really annoying. She doesn’t like it anymore. “Everything I post about the war I get DMs in which I don’t seem to be doing well in other people’s eyes and I know I’m not the only one!”
‘DAMN*MME!’
The size is really full for Monique. “People, it doesn’t matter to me which side of the border. It concerns innocent (children’s) lives! So I also think this is terrible! Damn, we all feel with our hearts and not with our heads!”
All these statements from celebrities cause annoyance to critics such as Marcel van Roosmalen. He has the idea that stars mainly show their pity out of vanity and even had a small television argument about this with Dolf Jansen.
‘So cringe’
What does hazologist Yvonne Coldeweijer think of Monique speaking out like this? “It’s so cringe. It’s very cringe. What she thinks? I don’t give a*ck about this war. I don’t give a*ck. I give a shit about likes and I want to be loved and liked and popular and I want you all to see me as an empathetic person, because I’m actually not.”
Yvonne finds it embarrassing that Monique initially admitted that she knew nothing about the conflict. She decides The Juice Show: “It’s really f*cking stupid. Monique, let’s get back to baking croissants. Surely no one is interested in what Monique thinks of Israel? Please, girl.”
