The 44-year-old Monique Westenberg has now been back in the Netherlands for over a week, after spending a month on holiday with her fiancé André Hazes Jr. (28). During their last week in Florida they were extensively photographed in their resort by a paparazzo from Privé and now it is rumored that she tipped the magazine herself.

Monique is disappointed

André and Monique are against appearances because of their serious addiction to attention. Volkskrant columnist Aaf Brandt Corstius also thinks that the agreed work is done. Those photos have caused André to get into trouble, because his ex-free-range Sarah van Soelen is now angry and therefore tries to sabotage his new documentary.

Agreed work or not: now that Monique is back in the Netherlands, she is a lot less eager for attention from the gossip media. When she walks to the supermarket in Berkel en Roderijs and is confronted with a paparazzo from the Weekend, she immediately puts a hand in front of her face.

‘She didn’t want to’

Weekend boss Bart Ettekoven is happy that his paparazzo was just able to take a photo without a hand in the face (see cover below). “I got a text from our photographer Reni: ‘Monique wasn’t happy when she saw me and I asked her how the holiday had been.’”

He continues: “With the app I received a few photos of André Hazes’ ex, on which she holds her hands in front of her face laughing. Monique had little appetite for photos when she had just picked up the first groceries after the holidays and certainly didn’t want to tell us how she and the Andrés had it during their USA tour.”

She looked very happy, according to the Weekend. “Dressed in a sunny skirt with print and a white top, she went to the supermarket in her hometown the day after returning home, where she was immediately recognized.”

It wasn’t until she saw the paparazzo that her mood changed. “The normally cheerful Rotterdam woman clearly did not appreciate the presence of our photographer. With one hand in front of her face, she tried to indicate that she had absolutely no interest in difficult questions from the press.”
