Moncler Group can grow strongly in 2022

The Italian fashion group Moncler SpA maintained its course for growth last year. On Tuesday evening, the parent company of the Moncler and Stone Island brands announced strong increases in sales and profits.

In the 2022 financial year, group sales amounted to EUR 2.60 billion, which corresponded to growth of 27 percent compared to the previous year. Adjusted for exchange rate changes, revenues increased by 25 percent.

The core brand Moncler achieved a sales increase of 21 percent (currency-adjusted +19 percent) and came to 2.20 billion euros. The Stone Island label, whose revenues had only been booked in the previous year since the takeover on April 1, 2021, contributed EUR 401.1 million. On a pro forma basis – i.e. taking into account the full annual sales for 2021 – the brand’s sales increased by 29 percent (currency-adjusted +28 percent).

Thanks to strong sales growth and largely stable margins, the group was able to significantly increase its profit. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) reached EUR 774.5 million, exceeding the previous year’s level by 28 percent. The net profit even grew by 47 percent to 606.7 million euros.
