December 10 marks exactly 9 years since Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques of Monaco were born. In other words, today is the birthday of the royal twins in Monaco.

Monaco’s Hovi posted a sweet photo of the twins on his Instagram account in honor of their birthday. In the picture, the twins are posing for the camera during Monaco’s National Day.

– Happy birthday Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, the court update says.

See the update below.

Jacques’ full name is Jacques Honoré Rainier Grimaldi. Charlene chose her son’s first name. Jacques is a common name in Charlene’s home country of South Africa. The boy’s second names, on the other hand, come from the previous rulers of Monaco.

Gabriella’s full name is Gabriella Thérèse Marie Grimaldi. Gabriella’s first name comes from their family tree. Tone’s name Thérèse was given in honor of Gabriella’s grandfather Rainier’s cousin.

Although Gabriella was born a few minutes before her brother, Jacques is ahead of her in the line of succession. Monaco’s law favors male monarchs.

Albert has two children from his previous relationships. Currently, children who are already adults are not entitled to the crown, because they were not born in wedlock.

Prince Albert and Princess Charlene were married in 2011.
