Mona Keijzer won’t go to HLF8, will she? ‘Screen test was not that good’

Mona Keijzer does not seem to be working as a presenter of the daily talk show HLF8, says TV expert Angela de Jong. “At least I heard that her screen test wasn’t that good.”

SBS 6 is diligently looking for new presenters of HLF8. Of all the names that are going around, Mona Keijzer is by far the most surprising. However, it seems that it will not be her after all, says Angela de Jong in the latest episode of the AD Media podcast. The TV columnist has heard that they are not so enthusiastic at the channel.

Failed screen test

Mona had to do a screen test (trial recording) and it didn’t go well, says Angela. “In any case, I hear that Mona Keijzer’s screen test wasn’t very good, so that it probably won’t be.”

Her AD colleague Dennis Jansen: “Well, that doesn’t have to say anything, does it, because you don’t have to be able to do anything for a talk show, right? haha.”

Manuel Venderbos, presenter of the AD podcast and can be seen since this year as a substitute at Shownieuws: “At what level am I? Because I’m not even asked!”

‘Mona is mature!’

Looks like Manuel is feeling pretty passed over. “I don’t know anything. I was not called and I did not do a screen test like Sam Hagens and Mona Keijzer. Apparently they want to make some kind of mature Avro’s Service Salon. Then I understand that they do not call me.”

Angela: “So! Would you still have a contract when this podcast comes out?”

Colleague Marcus den Blanken: “I think it’s done. Haha.”

Angela: “So! Ehm, okay!”

‘We will see!’

Angela thinks Manuel might become a stand-in presenter. “Well, they call you and then you’re there in the evening. You probably don’t need to do a screen test.”

So it doesn’t seem to be going to be Mona. Marcus: “The screen test was just as good as it goes with the CDA. There is still a fraction of that left.”

Angela: “We’ll see. I’m curious. I think it’s great that they still want to continue with it at all.”

Plate for head

Mona’s possible appointment is also discussed in another podcast today viz Another Day. Gijs Groenteman says: “How did it ever come about that they think that Mona Keijzer should present a talk show?”

Colleague Marcel van Roosmalen: “I don’t know how it went. Mona Keijzer is blessed with a built-in plate for her head. That has also become her downfall as a politician. She couldn’t see beyond the instant applause. (…) I also don’t know how that person wants to combine it, because she has a whole pack of children.”
