The Williams had already got stuck in the first course – Sainz initially did not come from the spot and was motionless in the starting line -up.
It was only at the very last moment that he managed to get the car up and running. Sainz was late in the introductory round, while all other drivers were already waiting in the starting line -up. Nevertheless, the starting process was canceled – the mechanics returned to the cars, the start -up procedure started from the front. Then there was a fire incident. The race was only able to start with a total of 15 minutes.
