The police arrested two men on Tuesday afternoon in the investigation into the deadly shooting at the Leeuwerikhof in Oss. It concerns men aged 23 and 26 from Oss. They reported themselves to the police station in their hometown. Last Thursday, 23-year-old Mohammed from Oss was killed in the shooting.
Mohammed was shot at while on his scooter. He died on the street, twenty meters from his house, a friend told Omroep Brabant the day after the shooting. The two suspects are in custody. “Therefore, in the interest of the investigation, we cannot and do not want to share more details,” the police said. The suspects are allowed to have contact with their lawyer.
The murder at the Leeuwerikhof, which is located in the Vogelbuurt, was committed in broad daylight. Immediately after the shooting, the police started a search, which included the use of a helicopter.
The investigation revealed that a white Mercedes was allegedly involved in the shooting. The police managed to locate the car in Enschede on Tuesday. It is assumed that it concerns the car that was also seen in Oss on Thursday. The car has been examined for possible traces.
