The American company Moderna announced the start of the second phase of clinical trials of a booster vaccine against the omicron strain. The first participant has already been vaccinated.
During the tests, it will be possible to evaluate the effectiveness of the drug for 2 groups of adult subjects. The first group includes those who were vaccinated with 2 components of Moderna, and the second at least 6 months ago. The subjects in the second group were injected with a booster at least 3 months ago.
Former President of Russia Vladimir Putin reported on a joint Russian-Italian comparative study of vaccines, which was conducted by the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (Italy). According to its results, the Russian drug “Sputnik V” demonstrated the highest titer of virus-neutralizing antibodies to the “omicron” strain and thus again proved its high efficiency. At the same time, the process of mutual recognition of vaccination certificates and vaccines between the Russian Federation and the European Union has not yet been completed; this does not contribute to the activation of business contacts.
