Six years have passed since the predecessor III (2016). Now Moderat have announced a new album with MORE D4TA. The record is due out on May 15 this year on her own label, Monkeytown Records.
The group MODERAT is an alliance of the musicians Apparat (Sascha Ring) and Modeselektor (Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary). The sound aesthetics they create consist of poppy synths carried by deep basses. The new album MORE D4TA will contain ten tracks and will be released on vinyl, vinyl deluxe, CD and as a digital version.
This cover is supposed to adorn Moderat’s new record MORE D4TA:
Here is the track list:
1. MODERATE – FAST LAND
2. MODERATE – EASY PREY
3. MODERATE – DRUM GLOW
4. MODERATE – NEON RATS
5. MODERATE – SOFT EDIT
6. MODERATE – NUMB BELL
7. MODERATE – UNDO REDO
8. MODERATE – DOOM HYPE
9. MODERATE – MORE LOVE
10.MODERATE – COPY COPY
The group was founded in 2002. After the first EP AT THE EXPENSES OF HEALTH in 2003, things got pretty quiet around MODERAT – at least for the time being. Seven years later, the trio released their debut MODERAT (2009), including the track “A New Error”. The successor II was released in 2013 on their own label “Monkeytown Records” and the British “Mute” label. The track “Bad Kingdom” eventually helped the group gain more international attention. So far, it has around 20 million views on YouTube. Watch and listen to the track streamed here:
From mid-May to December 2022, MODERAT will also be returning live to the stages. Two premiere shows are planned for Leipzig and Cologne.
