The serious incident occurred on Sunday morning around 5.45 am near the Vogelpers. The victim, a 35-year-old woman from Tubize, fell down and ended up on the train tracks several meters lower. It is not clear exactly how that could have happened. The emergency services arrived en masse and train traffic was stopped during the intervention. The victim was then transferred to the Erasmus hospital in Anderlecht in a very critical condition.

In the Red Cross aid station in the refectory of the Heilig-Hart&College, 79 people were cared for from late Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning. In addition, 19 people had to be transported to the emergency department of the AZ Sint-Maria. It mainly concerned alcohol intoxication and minor injuries. The Zennevallei police zone had to intervene a few times, including after reports of minor fights. In total, four people were arrested.

Another remarkable event in the outskirts of Carnival. Due to the traffic on the road Saturday afternoon, a man did not get to the hospital in time with his pregnant wife. They stranded near Bevrijdingsplein, about 700 meters from the AZ Sint-Maria hospital, after which an ambulance and an MUG team went to the scene. The doctor of the AZ Sint-Maria eventually gave birth to the child in the car together with the father. Fortunately, mother and daughter are doing well.
