“Flo is my homie”: Bundesliga star apologizes

Florian Wirtz was only on the pitch for eight minutes before he was injured in injuries – of all things because of his old teammate. This is now expressed.
Ferred for Bayer Leverkusen: Midfield star Florian Wirtz injured himself in the Bundesliga home game against Werder Bremen on the foot and threatens to be held out in the Champions League second leg against FC Bayern. His old teammate of all people was decisively involved.
What happened? Wirtz was substituted at the second half. A little later, Bremen’s Mitchell wisely stepped on his right foot. The Leverkusener then fell unhappily and had to leave the place after only eight minutes. “I think I start the pass from Flo and spy the ball away,” remembered Weiser after the game.
“I’m sorry, this is a foul and a yellow card.” He was lucky that he had played the ball and that it was not a dismissal. “Flo is my homie, I know him. Of course I’m sorry and I hope that it is not that bad,” said Weiser afterwards.
The 30-year-old and Wirtz know each other from time together in Leverkusen. In the 2020/21 season, they ran together for the Werkelf. There was initially no exact diagnosis. It is at least questionable whether Wirtz can participate in the round of 16 in the Champions League against FC Bayern next Tuesday. Leverkusen has to catch up with a 0-3 deficit from the first leg in the fight for moving into the quarter-finals.
