Mistake: ING recalls almost 100,000 new credit cards | Money

These are credit cards that ING sent to customers between 1 March and 20 April. According to a spokesperson for the bank, some of the cards did not work in payment and ATM machines because of a defect in the chip of the cards. “As a precaution, we have therefore decided to replace all the cards sent out during this period,” he says.

ING does not want to disclose exactly how many credit cards are involved, but sources at the bank state that it concerns no less than 96,000 cards. Customers were personally informed by ING about the problem. All problem passes have now been replaced, ING said.
