Missing girl hides in a bed shop in a panic

A missing girl was found on Wednesday in a bed shop on the Markt in Roosendaal. “I suddenly saw two feet under a bed,” says saleswoman Petra. A boyfriend was lying next to her, but they wouldn’t come out from under the bed. They were in panic because they had been threatened just before.”

Petra eventually managed to gain the trust of the two sixteen-year-olds. In the meantime she had called 911. “The operator advised me to take the young people to a place where they could wait for the police unseen. The two accompanied me to a room at the back of the case,” Petra says a day later.

“The two teenagers felt threatened by a group of young people and fled into my store.”

More than half an hour earlier, the boy and girl had stormed into the bed shop. Saleswoman Petra had seen that, but was also busy with the administration. After some time, she went to investigate. “I called and searched everywhere, but nothing happened. When I made a second round, I suddenly saw two feet under a bed. They lay there completely still for at least half an hour.”

“They were very scared,” says Petra. “They were threatened just before by a group of young people. There was also talk of a knife and then they fled into the store here.” The police were at the door within two minutes. “They took the teenagers and brought them home. I only heard then that the girl had been reported missing for a few days,” says Petra.
