Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, who is on January 20 with a working trip to Voronezh, urged residents of the region to get vaccinated, noting that the new strain of coronavirus “omicron” is more contagious, but gives fewer deaths.
“It is very important that the people of the Voronezh region also get vaccinated and comply with all sanitary and epidemiological requirements,” Mishustin said during a meeting with the region’s governor Alexander Gusev.
The head of government pointed out the need for a sufficient number of beds and the ability to help a sick person in primary health care, writes TASS.
In Voronezh, the prime minister visited the local branch of PJSC “Il” VASO, where he held meeting on the development of the aviation industry, examined the workshops of the enterprise, listened to the reports of its leaders, and also took part in the test flight of the newest liner MS-21.
The head of government is accompanied on the trip by the heads of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, the Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev, the Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov and the Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko.
In Russia, according to the federal operational headquarters for the fight against coronavirus, in recent days 38,850 new infections registered, 24,478 people recovered, 684 died. During the entire period of the pandemic, 10,938,261 cases of infection were registered in the country, 9,950,333 people recovered, 324,060 died.
