Head coach Jukka Jalonen planted the Lions ’fresh NHL confirmation Miro Heiskasen exercises Mikael Seppälä as a package pair.

The division of labor in the pack pair should be clear. Seppälä is known as an extremely reliable and strong specialist in the defense. Heiskanen, on the other hand, is a dazzling NHL-Stara with his skating skills and puck handling in particular – although naturally good in many areas.

– Good-looking guy. I have seen some of his games. Well played. There is definitely a good pair, Heiskanen said after the workouts.

The duo have not played together before.

Heiskanen said that he had practiced superiority Sami Vatasen, Valtteri Filppulan, Toni Rajalan and Harri Pesonen with.

Jalonen is thus giving up the yv composition of one defender and four attackers. Jalonen has been using this EIA composition for a long time, but in the fresh composition Heiskanen and Vatanen are defenders.

– At least I was in training today. There were smart guys around, Heiskanen said.

Dogs included

Heiskanen traveled from Dallas to Finland on a direct Finnair flight.

There were also two little hairy friends, a Pomeranian.

– A direct flight makes it a lot easier. The journey was smooth. Luckily with the dogs we got one line of our own. He had time to sleep in it, Heiskanen said.

Heiskanen, 22, has played in the NHL for four seasons.

– I’m a two-way player. In both directions I try my best. Of course the defense above goes. Trying to play well and hard on your own head and go support the attacks and play a lot with the puck. I am a versatile player, Heiskanen said.

In front of a large Finnish audience, Heiskanen last played in the 2017–18 season, when he represented HIFK. The season also included the World Championships for under-20s, the World Championships for men and the Olympics.

– Since then, I have probably moved forward in every area. At least that’s how it felt.

With these prospects, Heiskanen will be in Finland’s match on Friday in a match against Great Britain.
